NATURAL SEA SALT

from Les Salines, Tamarin Bay

We use organic salt mined in the traditional way from the Les Salines Bay Salt Pans in Tamarin Bay, Mauritius.

Salt water is pumped into the water-tight cobblestone pans from the lagoon and left to evaporate.  Once the water has evaporated, the salt is gathered into baskets for drying.

The nutritional value of natural sea salt includes minerals like sodium, chloride, potassium, calcium, magnesium and zinc among other beneficial trace elements.  In comparison, general table salt only comprises of Sodium Chloride (NaCl).

Research has shown that sea salt can boost as many 75 minerals and trace elements.  Further, these trace elements exist in minute concentrations, but they  work in conjunction with other minerals to promote and maintain optimal body function.

Trace elements that may be found in sea salt include phosphorous, bromine, boron, iron, manganese, copper and silicon.

IMPORTED & LOCAL MEAT

We use only the finest meat to produce our Biltong, Droëwors and range of fresh meat products, sourced from reputable suppliers.

SUGAR

The sugar used in our products is sourced from local sugar mills across the island.
